The purpose of Probus is to stimulate thought, interest and participation in activities at a time of life when it is easy to become complacent and self-centered.

The meaning of the word “Probus” is an abbreviation of the words Pro for professional and Bus for business.

A Probus club is not a Service Club, but rather members give generously of their time in voluntary service to provide fellowship between members who are compatible with each other and the opportunity for development of friendships and acquaintances.

Hornsby Probus Club consists of both men and women, and meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Uniting Church auditorium, 24 William Street, Hornsby, from 10am to 12 noon.  There is also a Hornsby Ladies Probus Club.

As well as interesting speakers at meetings, the Club has regular outings, tours and luncheons.

Spouses, partners and friends are also welcome.  Other activities include bowls teams, computer interests and theatre/concert parties.

Subscription:   $40 per annum.
